The Hip Harness Swaddle

The Hip Harness Swaddle

Hip Dysplasia is more common than a lot of mums think - approximately 1 in 10 infants are born with hip instability and 1 in 100 infants are treated for hip dysplasia, but yet 48% of parents have never heard of this common childhood condition.*

Of the infants diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip, around 92% need to wear a brace or harness throughout their treatment process. This leaves parents with very little option when it comes to dressing their child for sleep. It can be overwhelming, and particularly difficult to make this work around an already chaotic sleep schedule.

We at Love To Dream decided to launch a ‘Hip Harness’ friendly swaddle range, for babies using a Hip Dysplasia harness or brace. Because all babies deserve the same level of comfort!

The LOVE TO DREAM™ SWADDLE UP™ Hip Harness Swaddle and the Transition Bag version have both been approved as "hip healthy" by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.

They are based on our award-winning and patented ARMS UP™ design for self-soothing, and feature a wider base so that they can be worn over a Pavlik Harness, Denis Browne Bar (DBB) or a Rhino Brace. This means the baby can still experience the feeling of being comfy and cozy, swaddled around the middle and the arms.

Our original SWADDLE UP™ collection is also deemed "hip healthy” by IHDI, and has been proven to almost double infants’ average sleep time to nearly 7.5 hours**.

Hana, our founder, confirms: “we’re confident that, by giving babies with Hip Dysplasia a more comfortable way to sleep, the new LOVE TO DREAM™ Hip Harness Swaddles will be similarly life changing for their families.”
